Following the execution of the diplomatic roadmap known as the “Islamabad Accord” and subsequent orders from relevant state authorities, the Persian Gulf Shipping Authority (PGSA) has notified all global shipowners, operators, and masters regarding the regulatory protocols for navigating the Strait of Hormuz during the designated transitional peace window.

According to the official announcement, vessels submitting transit requests in compliance with the updated maritime guidelines will receive expedited, seamless clearance through the vital chokehold corridor.

The text of the PGSA statement is presented below:

“In view of the signing of the ‘Islamabad Accord’ and following directives issued by the relevant authorities, all applicants wishing to transit the Strait of Hormuz are hereby notified that during the transitional period specified in the agreement, passage will be expedited for vessels that submit their transit requests to the Gulf Waterway Management Authority in full compliance with the following guidelines:

Official Web Portal for Submission: PGSA.ir

Official Email for Follow-ups: Info@PGSA.ir

Crucial Guidelines:

The aforementioned website and email address constitute the only official and legitimate channels for processing transit requests.

Valid and accessible communication channels with the vessel must be clearly provided in the submitted request.

To prevent any operational delays or gridlock at the entry or exit points of the Strait of Hormuz, transit requests containing complete and required data must be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the vessel’s arrival at the boundaries of the Strait.

Throughout the designated 60-day window, no transit fees will be charged to the vessels. All tariffs related to security, safety, and environmental protection services, as well as the corresponding Iranian maritime insurance, will be fully covered and absorbed by the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Due to specific conditions and certain safety risks along the transit route, and to guarantee safe and secure navigation while preventing maritime accidents, coordination regarding the designated route and scheduled transit time is strictly mandatory before any vessel commences its move toward the Strait. Full liability for non-compliance will rest entirely with the shipowner.”

clearance will rest entirely with the respective shipowners.
