Ghalibaf congratulates Major General Vahidi on appointment as IRGC commander

Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has congratulated the appointment of Major General Ahmad Vahidi as the Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi has been recently promoted to the rank of Major General and appointed Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps.

In reaction to the appointment, Ghalibaf said in a message on Tuesday that the IRGC has proven itself to be a secure and resolute stronghold for the noble people of Iran.

Through the sacrifices of its martyrs and under your brave leadership during the recent imposed conflict, the IRGC has proven and will continue to prove itself a steadfast guardian of Iran’s territorial integrity and national authority, it added.

Meanwhile, Ghalibaf congratulated Major General Mostafa Izadi on his appointment as Deputy Commander of the IRGC, and said your experience today can be considered a valuable asset for guiding the IRGC’s extensive capacities and addressing the country’s new security and defense needs.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei has recently issued separate decrees appointing six senior commanders and officials to key positions within the Armed Forces General Staff, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and the Basij Organization.
