Mahmoud Vaezi, a Senior Politician and the Deputy of the Moderation and Development Party criticized the U.S. for violating promises and agreements, calling it a reason for Iran to take complete control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Vaezi addressed a number of issues related to the joint U.S.-Israeli war, saying the Islamic Republic had repeatedly warned that any military mischief by the enemies would engulf the entire region.
He said the U.S. and the Zionist regime had planned to steal Iranian oil resources by attacking the country or simply with their so-called “regime change,” but the Iranian people and Armed Forces gave a crushing response to the aggressors, forcing them to beg for a ceasefire, as was the case during the 12-day imposed war last year.
The Islamic Republic, in practice, was the victor on the battlefield, and will certainly be the victor in diplomacy as the Iranian talks enjoy the comprehensive support of the people, officials, as well as of political and defense institutions.
Vaezi, who previously served the country as Minister of Communications and Information Technology also gave his assessment of the U.S. naval blockade, saying that the U.S. reneging on its commitments under Iran’s proposal caused the armed forces to exercise complete control over the Strait of Hormuz.
According to him, the Islamic Republic demonstrated its resilience for a long period, and despite the two wars imposed by the United States and the Zionist regime, Iran presented a 10-point plan that paved the way for negotiations in Pakistan.
Referring to the Islamabad talks that ended without a breakthrough amid excessive and irrational American demands, Vaezi said differences would not be resolved in a single session as the animosity between Iran and the US is deep and 47 years old.
Hailing the people’s presence on the streets, Vaezi noted that the Iranian nation once again showed its commitment to the Islamic Republic and stood up wholeheartedly to defend the country.
He also commended the administration of President Masoud Pezeshkian for its excellent performance during the war, saying the government did not allow a shortage in the supply of goods and essentials, including fuel, which is worthy of appreciation.
