Speaking at a ceremony marking National Guilds Day on Monday, June 22, 2026, President Pezeshkian opened his remarks by honoring the martyrs of the recent war, in particular the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and extended condolences on the arrival of the month of Muharram.

He also emphasized the strategic role played by guilds and trade unions in preserving national stability and maintaining services to the people throughout the recent imposed war by the US and the Israeli regime.

Turning to the diplomatic front, the president referenced the government’s efforts to consolidate the gains achieved by Iran’s Armed Forces and people.

“The negotiations that are underway are being pursued with dignity and authority, within the framework determined by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution,” he said.

“Wherever they seek to disregard the rights of the Iranian nation, we will not back down under any circumstances, and we will not bow to excessive demands,” he added.

On the question of Lebanon, Pezeshkian described the enemy’s retreat as a significant achievement.

“The fact that today, as a result of the steadfastness and resistance of the negotiating team, the opposing side has been compelled to retreat on the issue of Lebanon and has ceased the killing and massacre of the oppressed people of that country is no small achievement,” he said.

He stressed that Iranians of all walks of life are partners in this success: “In this great achievement, all the people and all segments of society have had a share, whether the guilds and economic actors, or the fighters who were present on the battlefield with selfless sacrifice and gave their lives for the dignity and honor of the country.”

Addressing economic conditions, the president struck an optimistic tone.

“Fortunately, good openings have been achieved, the necessary foundations for economic prosperity have been laid, and the path for trade, investment, and guild activities has become more accessible than before,” he said.

He added that Iran is also working to strengthen regional ties: “In the area of regional interactions, we are also striving to further strengthen relations and cooperation.”

He described Iran’s elevated international profile as a product of unity: “Today, Iran is at the top of world news, and Iran and Iranians are spoken of with dignity and respect, and this achievement is nothing other than the result of unity and solidarity.”

The ceremony also included recognition of families of guild martyrs and trade union members, as well as leading figures from the guild sector, who received commemorative plaques and trophies.
