President Masoud Pezeshkian and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping have held a brief meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Iranian presidency, the two presidents met on Tuesday during the summit’s programs and held talks for several minutes. No further details were released about the content of their conversation.
The meeting took place as leaders of the SCO’s member states gathered in the Kyrgyz capital for the organization’s summit. China and Iran are both members of the SCO, which is marking its 25th anniversary this year.
