Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan describes talks in Islamabad as “favorable mechanism”

The Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, described the ongoing negotiations in Islamabad as a “favorable mechanism” aimed at ending the illegal aggression against Iran, while questioning whether the U.S. will respect the mediation efforts.

Amiri Moghaddam shared his remarks on X on Saturday, as high-level delegations from Tehran and Washington convened for their first diplomatic encounter following a 40-day conflict.

“Today, Islamabad is hosting a good mechanism to help end the illegal war against Iran—a war that is not only a blatant crime against the Iranian nation and civilization but has also endangered regional and global security,” the envoy wrote. He added a note of caution regarding the outcome: “It remains to be seen whether the U.S. will respect the host’s mediating efforts or…?”
