The meeting, attended by Ghalibaf, the ministers responsible for economic affairs—including the Ministers of Economy and Oil—as well as the Governor of the Central Bank and the head of the Planning and Budget Organization, was aimed at enhancing interactions with China and coordinating the government’s economic team to articulate Iran’s priorities and demands in bilateral relations.

During the meeting, Ghalibaf outlined the country’s recent developments and strategic plans regarding China, with particular emphasis on Iran’s new policy approach.

The government’s economic ministers also raised key issues concerning China’s economic behavior during the recent conflict, including the period when the Strait of Hormuz was closed. In addition, important aspects of bilateral relations were reviewed in detail, and it was agreed that proposals for strengthening ties and addressing existing challenges would be submitted to the Special Representative for China Affairs.

Participants also discussed strategies for greater convergence and cooperation in order to adopt a unified approach to advancing relations with China.

In addition to overseeing ongoing bilateral matters, Ghalibaf is working on a new Iranian strategy aimed at deepening relations with China and enhancing cooperation on regional and international issues. The objective is to present Iran’s updated roadmap to China as the country’s strategic partner.
