The Spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the insistence of the President of the European Commission on maintaining inhuman sanctions against Iran under the pretext of human rights is both hypocritical and shameful.

In response to remarks by the President of the European Commission—who claimed it is “too early to talk about lifting sanctions on Iran”—Esmaeil Baqaei wrote on his X, “The European Union’s inhuman sanctions against Iran have never had anything to do with ‘human rights’; these sanctions were designed from the very beginning to trample upon the fundamental rights of Iranians.”
He noted, “No one believes this repulsive show. These theatrical gestures will not create an ounce of credibility for you in the international arena; rather, they only further expose the hypocritical approach and double standards of the European ruling body and accelerate Europe’s descent into the abyss of insignificance and ineffectiveness.”
