Iran, Russia Stress Full Implementation of Tehran-Washington Agreement and End to Attacks on Lebanon

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed the newly finalized memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington during a phone call, emphasizing the United States’ responsibility to fully implement the agreement and the urgent need to halt ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon. Lavrov welcomed the accord and pledged Moscow’s diplomatic support, while both sides called for international and UN Security Council endorsement of the deal as a step toward long-term regional peace and stability.

 During the telephone call, the Iranian Foreign Minister outlined the comprehensive details regarding the newly brokered memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington. Araghchi strongly emphasized the absolute responsibility of the United States regarding the proper and faithful implementation of all the accord’s clauses, while reiterating the necessity of a total cessation of the Zionist regime’s ongoing aggression against Lebanon.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov welcomed the finalization of the text of the memorandum of understanding and affirmed Moscow’s full diplomatic support for the execution of its provisions.

The two foreign ministers pointed out the vital need for the international community and the United Nations Security Council to endorse this agreement, while simultaneously emphasizing the necessity of sustained diplomatic cooperation among regional countries to firmly establish long-term peace and stability.

In concluding their dialogue, the two top diplomats exchanged views on key areas within their bilateral relationship and agreed to closely follow up on outstanding joint initiatives.
