Iran condemns intense Israeli airstrikes on Lebanese regions

Baghaei described the Israeli military aggression against Lebanon and the targeting of public infrastructure and civilians’ homes as a flagrant violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and a clear instance of war crimes. He stressed the direct responsibility of the guarantors of the ceasefire for the crimes committed.

Expressing condolences to the families of the victims and solidarity with the Lebanese government and people, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson called for immediate and effective action by the international community to put an end to the Israeli regime’s impunity.

Referring to the continued violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Israeli regime over the past 15 months, Baghaei underscored the legal and political responsibility of the ceasefire’s supporters and guarantors for these repeated breaches.

He emphasized the need for the United Nations, particularly the UN Security Council, to fulfill its mandated responsibilities by taking urgent action to halt the aggression and hold the “occupying regime” accountable for its grave violations of international law.
