Iran is urging the Austrian government to officially respond to the “irresponsible” allegations

Tehran Dismisses Austrian Intelligence Report on Iran’s Nuclear Program

Tehran – IranView24 | Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has strongly rejected recent claims made by Austria’s intelligence agency questioning the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, calling them “false, baseless, and solely aimed at media manipulation against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Baghaei highlighted Iran’s full membership in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and its ongoing cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), emphasizing that Iran’s nuclear activities are under the agency’s most stringent inspections and monitoring mechanisms.

“The actions of the Austrian intelligence body undermine the credibility of the IAEA itself,” Baghaei said, adding that unlike Austria and some other European nations—who hypocritically remain silent on Israel’s possession of weapons of mass destruction while supporting the occupying and genocidal regime—Iran remains a staunch opponent of all WMDs, including nuclear weapons.

He further reaffirmed Iran’s longstanding commitment as a leading proponent of a WMD-free zone in West Asia.

Condemning what he described as the “fabrication and disinformation” by Austria’s intelligence services, Baghaei called on the Austrian government to officially clarify and respond to the “irresponsible, provocative, and destructive” behavior of one of its official institutions.
