The support for Reza Pahlavi in Persian-language media is overwhelmingly generated by satellite television channels affiliated with Saudi, Israeli, U.S., and other foreign sources, as well as ‘propaganda’ social media networks utilizing fake accounts, rather than genuine movements within Iran.

These foreign media outlets circulate an idealized and nostalgic image of the Pahlavi era, while simultaneously censoring or whitewashing the crimes and repression of the Shah’s reign.
