Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Toshimitsu Motegi, the Foreign Minister of Japan, discussed the latest status of bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments during a telephone conversation.

Araghchi, referring to the continued military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, strongly condemned the rhetoric of American officials threatening to attack Iran’s energy infrastructure and warned against the normalization of committing war crimes and its consequences for the region and the entire global community.

Iranian Foreign Minister, emphasizing that the threat to attack Iran’s production and energy infrastructure is a clear manifestation of war crimes and genocide, stated: “Such threats, alongside the crimes committed by American and Israeli aggressors in attacking schools, hospitals, universities, and residential areas, double the responsibility of the international community to hold accountable and punish the commanders and perpetrators of these crimes in domestic and international courts.”

He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue its comprehensive defense of its national sovereignty and territorial integrity with all its might against the U.S.-Israeli imposed war, and expects all countries to fulfill their responsibilities toward international peace and security and to condemn the aggressors.

The Foreign Minister of Japan, referring to the necessity of resorting to diplomacy, announced his country’s support for ongoing efforts at the regional and international levels to stop the war.

The Foreign Ministers of Iran and Japan also exchanged views on consular issues, and the Foreign Minister of Japan expressed appreciation for Iran’s cooperation in assisting Japanese nationals residing in Iran.
