President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized the need to maintain dialogue and enhance regional cooperation, as Tehran and Islamabad review regional developments and diplomatic efforts related to the indirect Iran-US negotiations.

In a meeting on Wednesday with Pakistani Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, Pezeshkian and Naqvi examined the latest regional developments, bilateral relations, and the status of diplomatic consultations concerning the ongoing indirect talks between Iran and the United States.
Both sides stressed the importance of continuing political consultations and strengthening regional cooperation while assessing developments in the negotiation process, diplomatic initiatives, and ways to help promote regional stability and security.
Pezeshkian commended Pakistan’s “positions, support and efforts” in backing regional stability, security, and cooperation, and highlighted the significance of expanding bilateral ties and preserving political coordination between Tehran and Islamabad.
Referring to the “deep historical, cultural and religious bonds” between the two neighboring countries, the Iranian president stated that broader cooperation in political, economic, border, and security fields would serve the mutual interests of both nations and contribute to regional stability.
Naqvi, for his part, conveyed the messages and views of Pakistani officials regarding ongoing regional developments and “the importance of continuing the path of dialogue and mutual understanding.”
The US and Israel launched a war of aggression against Iran on February 28 with air raids that assassinated senior Iranian officials and commanders and targeted civilian infrastructure, residential areas, educational institutes, and historical and cultural sites.
In response, the Iranian Armed Forces carried out 100 waves of successful strikes against sensitive and strategic American and Israeli targets throughout the region.
On April 8, after 40 days of the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, Tehran and Washington reached a two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan, followed by inconclusive negotiations to permanently end the war.
