Iranian Judiciary Chief condemns U.S. attack on Iranian commercial vessel in Sea of Oman

Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei has condemned the US attack on an Iranian commercial vessel in the Sea of Oman, calling it a “clear instance of a war crime” and a violation of the Iran-US ceasefire.

Speaking at a meeting with provincial judicial officials on Tuesday, Mohseni Ejei said US claims of imposing a maritime blockade on Iran, along with actions targeting Iranian ports and coastlines, amount to aggression.

“The action of the US regime in the so-called blockade of Iran’s ports and coasts, as well as this regime’s aggression against an Iranian commercial ship in the waters of the Sea of Oman, is a violation of the ceasefire and an example of a war crime, and we will certainly respond to these American acts of mischief,” he said.

He also praised Judiciary personnel for maintaining operations despite damage to facilities during the “third imposed war,” adding that officials ensured that legal and judicial services for citizens were not disrupted.

Mohseni Ejei highlighted measures adopted during the US-Israeli war of aggression, including allowing citizens to pursue legal cases in other cities and the full implementation of electronic notifications and case tracking.

He added that cases involving anti-security elements and individuals cooperating with “the aggressor enemy” are being handled “with speed and accuracy.”

Authorities must act decisively within the law, he said, adding, “From confiscation of property to deprivation of life,” penalties will be enforced without leniency once charges are proven.

The United States and Israel launched an unprovoked war on Iran on February 28, assassinating the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and several top Iranian military commanders.
