Iranian Foreign Minister and his Indian counterpart exchanged views on bilateral relations, regional developments, and multilateral cooperation.

On the sidelines of the second day of the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi, on Friday, Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
During the meeting, Araghchi appreciated India for its excellent hosting of the BRICS meeting, adding that very good talks and meetings had taken place.
He expressed hope that under India’s presidency of BRICS, greater coordination and achievements would be made among member states.
He also briefed his Indian counterpart on the latest developments following the 40-day war, the status of the current fragile ceasefire, and the ongoing talks aimed at ending the war.
Additionally, the two sides consulted and exchanged views on the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz, maritime security developments, and regional stability.
For his part, Jaishankar highlighted the enduring warm and friendly relations between Iran and India, stressing his country’s commitment to diplomatic solutions for resolving international issues and disputes.
