Iran’s Ambassador to the UK rejected claims made by a British media outlet regarding the “Jan-Fada” campaign, describing them as baseless and stemming from a misunderstanding.

After he was summoned to the Foreign Office, Ali Mousavi made the remarks on Tuesday during a meeting with Hamish Falconer, the UK parliamentary under-secretary.
It came after the Daily Mail claimed in a report that the Iranian Embassy in London had urged UK residents to sign up for what it described as an “official martyrdom program sparking national security concerns.”
Responding to the report, Mousavi noted that the claims were baseless and based on misunderstanding and misinterpretation.
He stressed that the initiative in question is merely an online campaign aimed at expressing national solidarity and defending Iran’s territorial integrity.
He said, “The ‘Jan-Fada’ campaign is an online initiative for Iranians to declare solidarity with the people of the country and defend the territorial integrity of Iran,” adding that it “has no connection with nationals of other countries.”
Mousavi also rejected any claims about the nature of the campaign, emphasizing that it carries no violent aspect and that media portrayals are the result of misinterpretation and media hype.
