Iran appreciates Pakistani Government, military leadership for their valuable efforts in mediating current ceasefire

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi appreciated the Pakistani Government and military leadership for their valuable efforts in mediating the current ceasefire, during a high-level meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff.

Araghchi, who is in Islamabad for intensive diplomatic consultations, met with Field Marshal Asim Munir on Saturday morning. The discussions focused on the latest developments regarding the ceasefire, the cessation of the imposed U.S.-Zionist war against Iran, and bilateral cooperation to strengthen peace and stability in West Asia.

During the meeting, the Iranian Foreign Minister praised the “good offices” and strategic efforts of the Pakistani government, specifically highlighting Field Marshal Asim Munir’s role in facilitating the ceasefire and working toward an end to the hostilities.

Araghchi further elaborated on Iran’s specific views and considerations regarding the sustainability of the current truce.

The Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan expressed his gratitude for Iran’s trust in Pakistan as a neighboring and fellow Muslim nation to advance the diplomatic process. Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to continue its mediation efforts until a definitive and successful result is achieved.
