Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei says diplomacy will continue following the longest round of talks between Iran and the United States.

Speaking in a televised interview on Sunday, Baghaei said, “Diplomacy never ends, and the diplomatic apparatus will continue its work to secure, preserve, and safeguard national interests.”
He noted that the Islamabad talks, which lasted nearly 24 hours continuously, addressed “very complex issues,” including the Strait of Hormuz and broader regional matters.
“It was natural that such issues could not be resolved within nearly 24 hours of negotiations,” he added.
Baghaei said the two sides reached agreements in some areas, but differences remained on key issues, particularly the Strait of Hormuz and regional issues.
He stressed that the talks were held after 40 days of war and several days of ceasefire, “not in an atmosphere of distrust, but in an atmosphere of suspicion.”
The spokesperson also rebuked the United States for committing aggression twice over nine months with the participation of the Israeli regime.
Baghaei thanked the government and people of Pakistan, as well as senior officials, for their efforts and hospitality, and said consultations with Pakistan and friendly neighboring countries will continue.
