Speaking to reporters on Sunday night, Ghalibaf thanked the people for their prayers, and presence on the streets, recalling a message of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution that such presence helps defend the rights of the Iranians and make the other side recognize their revolution.
On the talks with the U.S., he noted that although Iran’s good initiatives led to the progress in negotiations, the Americans need to gain Iran’s trust after decades of animosity and two wars on the Islamic Republic in the past year during negotiations.
Calling Saturday’s talks in Islamabad “very intense, serious, and challenging,” he said the Iranian team designed many innovative initiatives to demonstrate their good intentions, but noted that earning the trust is difficult and time-consuming due to the Americans’ treachery over the past 77 years.
In response to a question about the composition of Iran’s negotiating and technical teams in these talks, Ghalibaf described the “Minab 168” as a national delegation, committed to defending the rights of the Iranian people.
While thanking media, journalists and analysts for neutralizing the enemy’s psychological warfare and conveying the true voice of the Iranian people to the world, Ghalibaf also responded to Trump’s new rhetoric, saying such threats have no effect on the Iranian nation as the world has seen it with its own eyes.
He further emphasized that if the U.S. wanted to find an exit from the self-created quagmire, the only way is for it to make a decision and gain the trust of the Iranian people to whom the U.S. is indebted.
