The executed convict, identified as Omar Dorostaran, served as a key operative responsible for providing logistical and operational support to the group’s terror squads.

According to judicial records, Dorostaran played a central role in arranging safe houses, facilitating the illegal entry of terrorists into Iranian territory, transporting armed operational teams, identifying strike locations, supplying firearms and ammunition, and conducting reconnaissance on military installations.

Dorostaran’s logistical backing enabled several deadly operations in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, including attacks on the police headquarters and Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) base in the city of Rask, an assault on the Paroud base, and coordinated terrorist attacks on military posts in Chabahar in April 2024.

In his confessions, Dorostaran admitted to joining the group through an acquaintance and traveling to a neighboring country to procure weapons under the direction of an operative named Jasem Sarbazi. He was tasked with renting a safe house and was provided with specialized communications equipment to evade detection by intelligence agencies.

In one operation targeting the Rask police headquarters—which resulted in the martyrdom of 11 Iranian police officers and personnel—Dorostaran received seven terrorists, sheltered them in a safe house, and supplied them with seven Kalashnikov rifles, two M16 rifles, and 10 kilograms of explosives.

He also confessed to receiving and organizing 18 armed operatives for simultaneous assaults on a police station, maritime border guard facilities, and IRGC headquarters in Chabahar and Rask. Those terrorist attacks resulted in the martyrdom of numerous security personnel and civilians, including several children.

Following judicial proceedings, Dorostaran was convicted on charges of baghy (armed rebellion), membership in the hostile terrorist group, and aiding armed rebellion by arming operatives, providing safe houses, and facilitating the movement of terrorist cells.

The death sentence was subsequently upheld and finalized by the Supreme Court, and the execution was carried out on Monday morning.
