President Masoud Pezeshkian says Tehran’s proposed 10-point plan demonstrates the Islamic Republic’s responsible approach toward regional peace and security, stressing that Iran conveyed the framework to the United States as a basis for a ceasefire and an end to the war.

In a phone conversation with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Wednesday, Pezeshkian discussed the latest regional developments, particularly the halt of the illegal war by the U.S. and the Israeli regime against Iran.
A ceasefire took effect on Wednesday between Iran, Israel, and the U.S. to pause attacks for two weeks, and to allow for talks between Iran and the U.S. to permanently end the war. However, hours into the announcement of the ceasefire, Israel launched violent attacks across Lebanon, leaving hundreds of casualties.
“The acceptance of a ceasefire by Iran once again confirms the Islamic Republic of Iran’s seriousness in relying on diplomacy,” the president said, adding that the outline of the 10-point plan has been shared with the U.S. side.
Pezeshkian also underscored Iran’s deep mistrust of the U.S., citing a history of betrayal of diplomacy and military aggression during nuclear negotiations.
He described the recent attacks as “a clear violation of the UN Charter and international law and an instance of a war crime.”
He added that insecurity in West Asia and the Strait of Hormuz stems directly from U.S. and Israeli aggression, noting Iran’s measures are based on international law.
Takaichi, for her part, expressed regret over civilian casualties and damage, and emphasized the need for de-escalation and diplomacy, calling the establishment of the ceasefire a positive step.
