Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that any threat or adventurism against the Islamic Republic will be met with a \u201cswift and regret-inducing\u201d response, saying the Iranian nation will not retreat in the face of threats, rhetoric, or economic and air blockades.<\/p>\n
Tehran-IranView24<\/strong><\/p>\n Addressing an open session of the Parliament on Tuesday, Ghalibaf said US leaders should understand that the Iranian people will not be intimidated by threats or pressure.<\/p>\n \u201cThe leaders of the White House should know that the great and history-making nation of Iran will never retreat in the face of saber-rattling and rhetoric or an air or trade blockade, and the response of the Islamic Republic of Iran to any threat or adventurism will be harshly regret-inducing and swift,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Ghalibaf said US attempts to impose a maritime blockade, close air corridors, and exert maximum pressure on Iran\u2019s trade routes will fail through serious economic planning and military responses similar to those employed during Iraq\u2019s war of aggression against Iran in the 1980s.<\/p>\n He said Iran\u2019s history of resistance showed that the country should not be intimidated by siege and threats.<\/p>\n \u201cIf the enemy\u2019s American decision-making apparatus fails to understand this fundamental truth, it will continue to be caught in the cycle of receiving heavy slaps from the Iranian nation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Ghalibaf also criticized \u201clight-headed\u201d remarks by US President Donald Trump at the United Nations General Assembly, saying such hostile statements showed Washington has not changed its behavior toward Iran.<\/p>\n The parliament speaker further referred to Trump\u2019s recent remarks concerning the Strait of Hormuz and the passage of ships through the strategic waterway.<\/p>\n \u201cBoth the US and other countries should know that, as we have said, in a region where we do not sell oil, no one will sell oil, and if our security is not ensured, no infrastructure will be safe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Ghalibaf also praised President Masoud Pezeshkian\u2019s address to the UN General Assembly, saying he spoke as the true representative of the Iranian people and a \u201cproud and revolutionary nation\u201d that will not bow to threats or domination.<\/p>\n He described a Monday message by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, as a precise formulation of a \u201cdefense and civilizational doctrine,\u201d arguing that Iran\u2019s deterrence structure has been built through previous wars and that recent wars demonstrated a change in the balance of threats.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that any threat or adventurism against the Islamic Republic will be met with a \u201cswift and regret-inducing\u201d response, saying the Iranian nation will not retreat in the face of threats, rhetoric, or economic and air blockades.
