Tehran- Iran View24<\/strong><\/p>\n The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced early Wednesday the launch of a wave of retaliatory attacks against U.S. positions and forces in the region, following the second night of what it described as criminal U.S. attacks on southern areas of Iran, including the targeting of a wedding ceremony in the Kouhestak area of Sirik County.<\/p>\n The U.S. attack on the wedding ceremony of a young couple in Kouhestak, Sirik, on Tuesday night resulted in the deaths and injuries of a number of civilians. In total, the U.S. attacks on southern Iran last night have so far left 11 people dead and more than 60 injured.<\/p>\n In separate statements, the IRGC Public Relations Department announced that the response to the U.S. attacks began in the early hours of Wednesday, with a number of U.S. military targets in Jordan and Iraq coming under missile and drone attacks.<\/p>\n In the first stage, the IRGC reported the downing of a U.S. MQ-9 drone, stating that the drone was targeted using a new air defense system.<\/p>\n Subsequently, the IRGC Aerospace Force targeted a U.S. Marine Corps military camp in Jordan, known as Camp Titeen, with ballistic missiles. The IRGC stated that a number of U.S. forces were killed or injured in the attack, while several facilities and attack helicopters stationed at the site were also destroyed.<\/p>\n Another attack was carried out against facilities associated with U.S. long-range drones at Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan. According to the IRGC, hangars housing RQ-4 and MQ-9 drones were targeted with ballistic missiles, damaging a number of drones and technical infrastructure at the facility.<\/p>\n At the same time, the IRGC Ground Force announced a combined missile and drone attack on U.S. positions in Erbil, Iraq. According to the statement, a repair center, warehouses containing technical equipment, and the control system of a U.S. surveillance balloon were targeted in the attack, while fuel tanks at one of the bases were also set on fire.<\/p>\n In a separate statement, the IRGC Public Relations Department, in its seventh communiqu\u00e9 addressed to the people of Kuwait, said that the IRGC Ground Force had simultaneously targeted U.S. positions in Jordan, Bahrain and Erbil. It said that, in a combined missile and drone attack, the command center and accommodation facility of the U.S. commander at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait were struck, resulting in the deaths of a number of enemy personnel.<\/p>\n The IRGC emphasized that these operations were part of the response to U.S. attacks on civilian areas in southern Iran and stated that the retaliatory operations would continue.<\/p>\n The Islamic Republic of Iran Army also announced that its attack drones had targeted U.S. military bases at Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates and Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.<\/p>\n The Army\u2019s Public Relations Office emphasized that the enemy\u2019s attacks on residential areas and the targeting of a wedding ceremony constitute a clear instance of war crimes and expose the malign nature of what it described as \u201cAmerican human rights.\u201d It added that the Army\u2019s forces would certainly deliver a broad and extensive response to these crimes.<\/p>\n The latest round of escalating tensions between Iran and the United States has entered a new phase following overnight U.S. attacks on targets in southern Iran.
