He is leading the Iranian delegation, which also includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The U.S. team is led by Vice President JD Vance.<\/p>\n<p>Iran has come to Islamabad in good faith, although it does not trust the United States, Ghalibaf said, according to Pakistan\u2019s Geo News. He cited Washington\u2019s failure to fulfill its commitments during previous negotiations between the two sides.<\/p>\n<p>The last round of Tehran\u2013Washington talks, aimed at resolving the standoff over Iran\u2019s peaceful nuclear program, was held on February 26, two days before the war launched by Israel and the United States against the Islamic Republic.<\/p>\n<p>Fighting was paused on Wednesday after 40 days under a two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>The Islamabad negotiations, set to begin on Saturday, aim to bring a permanent end to the war.
