President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s determination and commitment to safeguarding stability, and security of West Asia through cooperation with regional countries without foreign interference.<\/p>\n
Tehran – IranView24<\/strong><\/p>\n Pezeshkian called for the expansion and strengthening of intra-regional cooperation in a phone conversation with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, late on Monday.<\/p>\n The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations, regional developments, and the consequences of the illegal US-Israeli war on Iran for regional and global security.<\/p>\n Pezeshkian clarified that Iran was not the initiator of war, rather it was the U.S. and the Israeli regime that took the military action without any justification and logic amid negotiations, martyring the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, high-ranking commanders, and defenseless citizens, including innocent students.<\/p>\n Explaining the dimensions and intensity of the aggression and crimes committed by the United States and the Israeli regime, he said the Islamic Republic is merely defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity, which is its natural and legitimate right.<\/p>\n The President reiterated Iran’s policy of maintaining brotherly and friendly relations with neighbors, including Pakistan, adding that the country has always been serious about safeguarding stability, security, and combating foreign interference in regional affairs.<\/p>\n However, he urged Muslim countries not to allow the U.S. and the Israeli regime to use their territory and facilities for attacks on Iran, warning that the war will escalate insecurity in the region if they these countries continue to become facilitators for the aggression against Iran.<\/p>\n The Pakistani premier, for his part, while congratulating Pezeshkian on the Eid al-Fitr and Nowruz festivals, expressed deep sorrow over the U.S.-Israeli attack, and the martyrdom and injuries of thousands of innocent Iranian citizens and senior officials.<\/p>\n Conveying the deep sympathy and condolences of the Pakistani government and people to Iran, Sharif appreciated Iran’s cooperation for allowing the safe passage of ships belonging to Pakistan through the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n Sharif also called for collective efforts by regional countries, especially Muslim nations, to reduce tensions and restore lasting peace and stability in the region, while emphasizing the legitimate and natural right of Iran to defend itself.<\/p>\n Pakistan has always been and will remain by the side of the Iranian government and people, he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s determination and commitment to safeguarding stability, and security of West Asia through cooperation with regional countries without foreign interference.
