Tehran – IranView24<\/strong><\/p>\n In a meeting with Burkina Faso\u2019s Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs Brigadier General C\u00e9lestin Simpor\u00e9 in Tehran on Monday, Pezeshkian said Iran is keen to utilize its broad capacities to improve relations with African countries as a strategic priority in its foreign policy.<\/p>\n The Iranian president hailed Burkina Faso\u2019s principled and positive stance on Iran in international circles and underscored the importance of exchanging high-level political, defensive, and economic delegations between the two countries.<\/p>\n “The continuation of official visits and the expansion of specialized consultations can pave the way for deeper mutual trust, strengthening friendly bonds, and increasing the level of interactions in various economic, scientific, industrial, and defense fields.\u201c<\/p>\n Pezeshkian expressed confidence that the development of relations with Burkina Faso will also lead to the elevation of cooperation with other countries in Africa.<\/p>\n He commended the independence-seeking spirit and anti-hegemony approach of Burkina Faso\u2019s government and people, saying the African country will prevail in the fight against terrorism by relying on national will and internal cohesion.<\/p>\n Simpor\u00e9, for his part, hailed Iran\u2019s resistance in the face of sanctions over the past four decades.<\/p>\n He said Iran\u2019s progress in defense and advanced technologies symbolizes national power, strategic self-reliance, and wise management.<\/p>\n Hegemonic powers seek to keep nations dependent and prevent them from realizing true sovereignty, he said. The Burkinabe minister said those behind instability and insecurity in Africa are also behind forcing the Iranian nation into submission.<\/p>\n He said Burkina Faso has been facing terrorism and instability for over a decade. The Burkinabe people, he added, are determined to continue the path of independence, social progress, and economic development.<\/p>\n Earlier in the day, Iran\u2019s Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh also met with the Burkinabe defense minister.
