However, should a direct confrontation with the U.S. occur, Iran would consider it a &#8220;war for survival.&#8221; This conflict would be full-scale and vastly different from the previous 12-day war.<\/p>\n<p>The outbreak of war could halt oil and gas supplies from West Asia and potentially the Caucasus, and any country hosting U.S. military bases could be drawn into the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>Iran upheld its commitments under the JCPOA but endured damages and a loss of trust, particularly during the Trump presidency.
