In response to recent media reports suggesting an imminent agreement between Tehran and Washington, Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi<\/strong> emphasized that progress in diplomacy can only be achieved through direct negotiations\u2014not through media speculation.<\/p>\n

In a post published Thursday on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Araghchi addressed a report by FOX News<\/strong> claiming that a deal between Iran and the United States<\/strong> was imminent. \u201cMedia is speculating about an imminent Iran-US deal. Not sure if we are there yet,\u201d he wrote, casting doubt on the accuracy of such claims.<\/p>\n

Araghchi reiterated Iran\u2019s commitment to a diplomatic resolution that respects the interests of all parties involved. He stressed that any potential agreement must include the full lifting of sanctions and recognition of Iran\u2019s legitimate nuclear rights, including uranium enrichment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Iranian diplomat also condemned what he called “disinformation campaigns” aimed at sabotaging the diplomatic process<\/strong>. He accused Israel of exploiting tensions with Iran to discredit American political figures. \u201cUsing Iran to attack American critics is low, even for Israel,\u201d Araghchi stated, warning that such tactics risk undermining efforts to resolve disputes through constructive dialogue.<\/p>\n

He concluded his remarks by underlining that “the path to a deal goes through the negotiating table and not the media.”<\/p>\n

Negotiations between Tehran and Washington have been ongoing, with five rounds of nuclear talks held since April 12. Further discussions are expected in the coming weeks, as both sides seek to bridge differences\u2014particularly regarding the level of uranium enrichment permitted under a potential agreement.<\/p>\n
