Iran\u2019s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned recent Israeli airstrikes on Sana\u2019a International Airport<\/strong> in the Yemeni capital, which led to the destruction of a Yemenia Airways passenger plane<\/strong> and disrupted travel for Yemeni Hajj pilgrims.<\/p>\n

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei<\/strong> on Wednesday denounced the attacks as barbaric<\/strong>, highlighting them as part of the Israeli regime\u2019s ongoing campaign of hostility against the Muslim people of Yemen<\/strong> and the broader West Asian region.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Israeli regime’s targeting of civilian infrastructure during the Hajj season, particularly measures aimed at obstructing Yemeni pilgrims from reaching Mecca, is a grave violation of human rights and religious freedom,\u201d Baghaei said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Call for International Action<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Baghaei urged international institutions<\/strong>, especially the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)<\/strong>, to take immediate and decisive steps in response to the attacks. He described Israel’s deliberate targeting of non-military facilities\u2014including airports and food warehouses<\/strong>\u2014as clear war crimes and crimes against humanity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He stressed that these acts reflect a broader agenda of destabilizing the region, rooted in what he described as Israel\u2019s \u201cinherent alienation\u201d from the peoples of West Asia<\/strong> and its repeated efforts to provoke unrest and division<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis regime has enjoyed years of impunity, largely due to the inaction of the United Nations Security Council and the continued backing by the United States. This dynamic undermines international law and threatens global peace and stability,\u201d Baghaei stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Yemeni and Regional Response<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Earlier on Wednesday, Mahdi al-Mashat<\/strong>, head of Yemen\u2019s Supreme Political Council<\/strong>, warned Tel Aviv of a \u201chot summer\u201d<\/strong>, signaling a possible escalation in anti-Israeli operations<\/strong> by the Yemeni Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery new crime only deepens our resolve,\u201d al-Mashat said, in reference to the intensifying Israeli strikes since October 2023<\/strong>, when the regime launched what has widely been condemned as a war of genocide against the Gaza Strip<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
