In a move to strengthen cultural and diplomatic ties, First Vice President of Iran Mohammad-Reza Aref<\/strong> on Thursday proposed the formation of a joint committee on Persian language, literature, and civilization<\/strong> between Iran and Tajikistan.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Dushanbe<\/strong>, Aref described Tajikistan as a \u201csecond homeland for Iranians\u201d<\/strong>, citing shared language, heritage, and close geographical proximity as key pillars of the enduring bond between the two nations.<\/p>\n

\u201cIran and Tajikistan exist within a single civilizational sphere. This deep-rooted cultural connection has made our relations strong and naturally facilitated cooperation over the past three decades,\u201d Aref said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Economic and Diplomatic Progress<\/h3>\n

Referring to President Masoud Pezeshkian\u2019s recent visit to Tajikistan<\/strong>, Aref highlighted significant strides in bilateral ties. During the visit, 13 agreements worth over $450 million<\/strong> were signed at a business forum between Iranian and Tajik enterprises.<\/p>\n

In parallel, the 17th session of the Iran-Tajikistan Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation<\/strong> was recently held in Shiraz<\/strong>, signaling continued momentum in trade and investment collaboration.<\/p>\n

Environmental and Tourism Cooperation<\/h3>\n

Aref also praised Tajikistan\u2019s commitment to sustainable development, citing its hosting of the International Conference on Glaciers Preservation<\/strong> (May 29\u201331, 2025) in Dushanbe. He described the event as \u201ca reflection of Tajikistan\u2019s responsible global engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Iranian vice president further welcomed the implementation of a visa waiver agreement<\/strong>, which has boosted tourism and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.<\/p>\n

Scientific and Political Alignment<\/h3>\n

Stressing the strength of current bilateral ties, Aref remarked that political relations between Iran and Tajikistan are now at their highest level<\/strong>, serving as a model for expanding cooperation across other sectors. He also reaffirmed Iran\u2019s readiness to share its scientific and technological advances<\/strong> with Tajikistan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe progress Iran has made in science and technology belongs not only to us but should be shared with our friendly and brotherly nations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Tajik Reaction<\/h3>\n

Tajikistan\u2019s Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda<\/strong>, who hosted Aref during the visit, echoed the sentiment, stating that Iran\u2019s commitment to strengthening ties with Tajikistan reflects the sincere, brotherly, and historical friendship<\/strong> between the two nations.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are bound by common language, history, and values. This foundation allows us to work together with trust and mutual respect,\u201d Rasulzoda said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
