The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency has claimed that he is facing “indications of security threats,”; but the main question is whether he is truly in danger or if this allegation is part of a fabricated scenario aimed at increasing pressure on Iran.

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, has claimed that there are “indications of threats against his personal security,” an allegation that was immediately echoed in Western media and attributed to Iran. At the same time, Grossi stated that he “wants to maintain constructive relations with Tehran.”
Meanwhile, Iranian officials and analysts dismissed such claims as baseless, describing them as an attempt at deflection and blame-shifting. According to them, instead of giving clear answers regarding the Agency’s biased and unfair reports, Grossi seeks to conceal weaknesses and the existing distrust toward the IAEA by highlighting the notion of “threats.”
Some political circles also put forward a broader scenario: that hidden hands — especially from the Israeli regime — might engineer incidents against Grossi or his team to falsely put Iran under suspicion and pave the way for new international pressure on Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.
Observers stress that political exploitation of the Agency and suspicious media hype will not contribute to confidence-building, but rather undermine the credibility and legitimacy of this international body even further.
