Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said the country’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, has stressed the need to reduce regional tensions during a meeting in Tehran with Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said Jassim Al-Thani underscored the need to support peaceful solutions and prevent the consequences of military conflict from being imposed on the people of the region.
The meeting was held with the aim of reviewing ways to de-escalate tensions in West Asia. The two sides underscored the necessity of enhancing diplomatic dialogue and cooperation among regional countries to consolidate security and stability.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani emphasized Doha’s firm support for “peaceful solutions” to regional crises, stressing that strengthening security and stability in West Asia is possible “only through dialogue and diplomacy.”
The statement added that the two sides stressed the need for countries of the region, through collective efforts and international coordination, to prevent the consequences of military and security conflicts from being imposed on innocent people.
The Qatari premier also highlighted the importance of coordination with “brotherly and friendly countries” to resolve differences through diplomatic channels and to avoid confrontational approaches, the ministry said.
