Ali Shamkhani, representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the Supreme National Defense Council, has said Iran has not initiated any war over the past 47 years and does not seek conflict, while signaling readiness for practical negotiations with the United States under clear conditions.

In an interview with Lebanon’s Al Mayadeen TV network, Shamkhani said war is not limited to military confrontation and that Iran is already facing a form of warfare, including threats and psychological pressure, adding that Tehran is prepared for all scenarios.
He stressed that military readiness does not mean seeking war, but being capable of confronting it.
Shamkhani said hostile powers continue to attempt to weaken Iran, despite repeated failures in the past, and warned that such efforts risk regional instability.
Referring to US President Donald Trump, he said Washington pursued multiple plans against Iran after withdrawing from the 2015 nuclear deal but failed to achieve its objectives.
He added that Iran is now facing Plan B, involving threats and psychological warfare, with armed actions as the next step.
He said proposals have been sent to Tehran and that if they are free from threats and coercion and include logical conditions, war could be avoided. Shamkhani said Iran is only prepared for practical talks with the US, limited strictly to the nuclear issue, adding that Europe has shown it lacks the capacity to play an effective role.
Shamkhani emphasized that producing or possessing nuclear weapons is forbidden and unchanged, saying Iran has repeatedly stated it does not seek, build or stockpile such weapons.
He said Iran’s 60% enriched uranium is for peaceful purposes and could be reduced to 20% without being transferred abroad, provided the costs are covered.
Shamkhani warned that any military aggression, however limited, would escalate into a major crisis, adding that Iran’s response would not be geographically confined.
He said any US attack would be considered coordinated with the Israeli regime and met with reciprocal action.
