The Iran Book and Literature House has participated in the Chennai International Book Fair in India for the first time, aiming to further bolster the cultural diplomacy of the Islamic Republic.

The fourth edition of the Chennai International Book Fair (CIBF) took place at the Kalaivanar Arangam auditorium in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, from January 16 to 18, 2026.
This year’s event featured the organizing committee of the Frankfurt Book Fair, one of the largest and oldest book fairs in the world, as the Guest of Honour, and included participation from publishers in over 100 countries, including the Islamic Republic.
The three-day event also hosted special literary and business sessions. Notable highlights included a session organized by the French government for Tamil publishers, a seminar on Turkey’s TEDA Turkiye translation grant, and workshops by the Bologna Children’s Book Fair focusing on painting, design, translation, and cartooning.
Additionally, there were sessions on illustrated textbooks led by representatives from Iran.v
