Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has expressed concern over the misuse of Islamic countries’ territories by the United States and the Israeli regime to carry out their aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Araghchi, in a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan on Monday, discussed developments and the implication of the illegal U.S.-Israeli war on regional and global security.
Explaining the crimes committed by the aggressors against the Iranian people, especially by attacking schools, hospitals, and residential areas, Araghchi emphasized Iran’s determination to decisively defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He reiterated that Iran’s actions against military bases and facilities of the aggressors in the region are in line with the country’s inherent right to self-defense. We regret that the territory of Islamic countries is being misused by the United States and the Israeli regime to carry out their attacks on Iran, he added.
Referring to the consequences of the unprovoked U.S.-Israeli war, the top Iranian diplomat emphasized that the current situation in the region, including in the Strait of Hormuz, is the direct result of the military aggression against Iran, and therefore, countries of the region and the world should hold the perpetrators accountable for their crimes.
For his part, the Turkish foreign minister emphasized the need for efforts to reduce tensions and strengthen relations between Iran and regional countries.
