Informed source to IranView24: In Muscat talks, Washington’s position moves closer to Iran’s stance

An informed source told IranView24 that uranium enrichment is a clear and established right under the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and is not subject to recognition, bargaining over suspension, or a deal and trade-off.

The source added that the talks were merely confined to the nuclear file, with no parallel tracks involving missile issues, regional matters, or non-state actors. No agreed framework was reached regarding the formation of a consortium, enrichment levels, or the transfer of nuclear materials.

The source further noted that at the outset, U.S. demands extended beyond the nuclear issue, but over the course of the negotiations they moved toward a more realistic framework. However, based on past experience, it remains unclear whether Washington will adhere to this framework in subsequent claims that are typically raised—though Iran hopes that it will.
