Referring to the years-long military presence and sustained pressure exerted by the United States against Iran, the parliamentary official said Washington’s primary objective has been to gain access to the region’s oil resources and to ensure the security of the Israeli regime, which he described as the largest U.S. military outpost in West Asia.
The spokesman also outlined Iran’s position on diplomacy, stressing that any negotiations would be limited exclusively to the nuclear issue and conducted directly. He said such talks would be acceptable to the Islamic Republic of Iran only if they lead to tangible results, including the lifting of sanctions, a reduction in economic pressure on the Iranian people, and improvements in living conditions across the country.
He concluded by underscoring that Iran’s strategic approach is based on a combination of strong defensive deterrence and responsible diplomacy, while reiterating that any hostile action or threat against the security of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be met with a decisive response.
