Responding to claims that over 30,000 people were killed during the January incidents, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi stated, “Hitler once famously said, “the bigger the lie, the easier it is to believe.” Unfortunately, the larger the falsehood, the greater its impact. Figures like ‘30,000 to 50,000 deaths’ are sometimes cited—but they are entirely untrue. Official statistics report the death toll at 3,117.

Anyone claiming even a single death beyond this figure must come forward with their documents and evidence.”
