Esmaeil Baqaei, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, stressed the continuation of long-standing relations based on mutual respect and interests with Russia and China, saying: “These exchanges and consultations will continue with strength.”

Baqaei noted that defense cooperation with these two countries has a long history and has been defined within strategic and long-term agreements, including the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement” with Russia, of which defense cooperation is one of the key pillars.
He also emphasized that Russia and China, as two permanent members of the Security Council, are concerned about the country’s international peace and security, and in the wake of recent developments, Iran is in close and continuous contact with both countries at the high level so that international responsibilities for regional stability are properly fulfilled.
