Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi met with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi on Monday during his visit to Cairo, where he has already held high-level talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The meeting was part of a trilateral session that also included Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, as confirmed by Grossi in a post on his X account. He shared a photo of the meeting, calling it a “timely” and constructive engagement.
Grossi thanked Egypt for hosting the talks, praising Cairo’s “constructive role in supporting peaceful, diplomatic solutions to regional challenges.”
The discussions come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing international focus on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program. Araqchi has emphasized Iran’s full transparency and cooperation within the framework of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
